Columbia Sunset I Oil 9x12 I liked the way this turned out and I may do a series. There is no shortage of subject matter at the mouth of the Columbia River.

A Few Miles Out of Ontario Oil 11x14 On I84 in the early morning between Ontario and Baker city the deep shadows on the rolling hills caught my eye. Not a good spot for plein air so I snapped a few photos.
Social Security Beach Oil 9x12 So named as the beach at Fort Stevens State Park that is often frequented by retirees fishing and crabbing from the shore. Cape Disappointment is in the background
South Clatsop Slough Oil 10x14 One of the tidal sloughs that flow into Fort Clatsop National Park
Gillneter on the Blocks Oil 11x14 A 60+ year old wooden gillnet boat up for repair. This is a study I did at the Astoria boatyard
Old Columbia River Highway Oil 11x14 This will probably be one of my I-84 series paintings since this was the route before there was an I-84

Airport Walkers Oil 9 x 12 in This is my latest painting for Karin Jurick's Different Strokes for Different Folks web site. The unusual perspective was a bit of a challenge.
I am a Bend, Oregon, artist who paints in a variety of mediums; oil, watercolor and acrylic. I've recently been working on about everything under the sun, Still life, urban street scenes, dogs, fruit. And I'm doing more and more plein air, finding these paintings sometimes more satisfying than studio painting from photographs.
